Role Overview

The Specialized Growth Channel Sales Manager is a newly created role designed to drive incremental, high-margin revenue by expanding the company’s presence beyond traditional floral channels. This position will focus on developing new and under-penetrated market segments, including Garden Centers, Plant Growers, Christmas Tree Farms, and Non-Traditional Retailers.

The role is critical to achieving  2026 growth targets, with a clear mandate to build scalable, recurring revenue streams while leveraging existing technologies and solutions. The position requires a balance of hunter mentality, technical understanding, education-based selling, and long-term relationship development

Key Objectives

  • Generate $300K–$400K in new revenue in Year 1
  • Establish the company as a trusted technical and solutions partner in new growth channels
  • Build a repeatable go-to-market model for non-traditional segments
  • Support the company’s broader strategy of diversification, innovation adoption, and margin expansion

Primary Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales

  • Identify, prospect, and acquire new customers within:
    • Garden Centers
    • Plant Growers
    • Christmas Tree Farms
    • Non-Traditional Retail Channels
  • Lead trials, product onboarding, and commercial conversion from pilot to repeat business
  • Own the full sales cycle from lead generation through close and post-sale follow-up
  • Develop long-term customer relationships that drive recurring revenue

Channel & Market Development

  • Build scalable outreach and education programs tailored to each channel
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for new verticals entering the company’s ecosystem
  • Translate technical product benefits into clear commercial and operational value for customers
  • Capture market feedback to support innovation and product adaptation

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with:
    • Marketing (toolkits, messaging, campaigns)
    • Technical teams (education, trials, product validation)
    • Sales leadership (alignment with broader commercial strategy)
  • Support the development of training materials and best practices for new channels

Planning, Reporting & Accountability

  • Own revenue targets and KPIs tied to the 2026 budget
  • Maintain a structured sales pipeline and forecast
  • Provide regular monthly updates on:
    • Pipeline status
    • Revenue progress
    • Market insights
    • Risks and mitigation actions

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in sales, business development, or channel management
  • Experience in plant, horticulture, garden retail, agriculture, or adjacent industries
  • Strong ability to sell technical or education-driven solutions
  • Proven track record of opening new accounts and building new markets
  • Comfortable working independently in a newly created role
  • Strong communication, organization, and presentation skills
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support customer development

Preferred Experience

  • Background in plant care, crop protection, substrates, fertilizers, or related technical products
  • Experience selling into non-traditional or fragmented retail channels
  • Familiarity with pilot programs, trials, and long onboarding cycles
  • Experience working cross-functionally with marketing and technical teams
