The selected candidate will become part of an experienced Procurement team responsible for sourcing premium fresh-cut flowers and ensuring a reliable supply chain that supports customer demand throughout the year. Working closely with growers, logistics partners, quality teams, and commercial departments, this role will contribute to the successful execution of purchasing strategies that balance quality, availability, and cost.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute purchasing strategies for fresh-cut flowers in alignment with business demand and inventory requirements.
  • Manage the day-to-day procurement process while collaborating closely with the broader Procurement team.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with growers, farms, exporters, and strategic suppliers.
  • Negotiate pricing, product availability, and commercial terms with domestic and international vendors.
  • Monitor flower availability, seasonality, market trends, and pricing to support informed purchasing decisions.
  • Coordinate with Logistics, Quality Assurance, Inventory, and Sales teams to ensure timely product availability and customer fulfillment.
  • Manage purchase orders and ensure accurate order tracking from farm to final destination.
  • Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, service, delivery, and cost metrics.
  • Support inventory planning while minimizing shortages, overstock, and product waste.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements without compromising product quality.
  • Assist with holiday and promotional procurement planning, including Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and other key floral seasons.
  • Ensure compliance with company quality standards, import requirements, and supplier certifications.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in floral procurement, purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain.
  • Previous experience purchasing fresh-cut flowers is required.
  • Strong knowledge of flower varieties, quality standards, production seasonality, and international sourcing.
  • Experience working directly with growers and suppliers in Colombia, Ecuador, and other floral-producing regions.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor relationship management skills.
  • Experience with inventory planning, forecasting, and purchasing analysis.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience using ERP or procurement management systems.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Fluent English and Spanish, both written and verbal.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting Mass Market, supermarket, wholesale, or bouquet manufacturing floral programs.
  • Knowledge of international logistics, Incoterms, and fresh product supply chains.
  • Experience managing supplier scorecards and procurement KPIs.
  • Familiarity with Rainforest Alliance or other sustainability certifications.
  • Experience participating in farm visits, supplier audits, or international floral trade events.
  • Experience collaborating across Procurement, Sales, Operations, and Product Development teams.
