Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop relationships with existing floral customers throughout the United States.
- Drive sales of fresh-cut flowers by understanding customer needs and identifying appropriate products and opportunities.
- Develop new business relationships with florists, floral businesses, event professionals, wholesalers, retailers, and other relevant customers.
- Identify opportunities to increase sales, order frequency, product adoption, and overall account value.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key accounts and serve as a trusted sales partner.
- Prospect for new customers and convert qualified opportunities into active accounts.
- Maintain regular communication with customers regarding products, availability, pricing, orders, and market conditions.
- Introduce customers to relevant flower varieties, products, and sourcing opportunities.
- Monitor customer activity and sales performance to identify opportunities for account development.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support a strong customer experience and successful order fulfillment.
- Maintain accurate customer and sales information within the company’s systems.
- Monitor trends in the U.S. floral market, including customer demand, seasonal products, availability, and pricing.
- Represent the hiring company professionally within the U.S. floral industry.
- Contribute to the continued growth of the company’s U.S. sales operation.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in floral sales, wholesale flowers, fresh-cut flowers, or a closely related area of the floral industry.
- Proven experience managing customer accounts and generating sales within the U.S. market.
- Strong understanding of the U.S. floral industry and fresh-cut flower market.
- Demonstrated ability to develop new business and expand existing customer relationships.
- Strong knowledge of fresh-cut flowers and floral products.
- Experience selling to or working with professional floral customers.
- Strong communication, negotiation, relationship-building, and sales skills.
- Ability to independently manage a sales territory and customer portfolio in a remote environment.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
- Willingness to travel within the United States when required for customer meetings, industry events, or business development.
Preferred Experience
- Experience selling wholesale flowers or fresh-cut flowers to florists, event professionals, floral retailers, wholesalers, or distributors.
- Existing relationships with buyers, florists, wholesalers, event companies, or other professional flower purchasers in the United States.
- Experience working with flower growers, importers, exporters, wholesalers, or distributors.
- Knowledge of flower varieties, seasonality, availability, sourcing, and market pricing.
- Experience managing strategic or high-value customer accounts.
- Experience with CRM, ERP, e-commerce, or sales-management systems.
- Experience working with international floral supply chains.
- Experience with farm-direct flower sourcing or technology-enabled wholesale floral purchasing.
- Candidates located on the U.S. East Coast are preferred.
